BYRON, Canon Richard (Pallasgreen, Co. Limerick, Marshalstown, Co. Wexford and The Diocese of Menevia, Wales) - April 21, 2021 (peacefully), in Singleton Hospital, after a short illness, predeceased by his parents Con and Mary, brothers Jim and Fr. Paddy; he will be greatly missed by his brothers Fr. Bill, John and Con, his sister-in-law Frances, his nieces Siobhan and Jennifer and their husbands John and Conor, nephews Brendan and John and their wives Gena and Jo, grandnieces Isabella and Rachel, grandnephews Jack, Lachlan and Scott, cousins and friends in Ireland and Wales, the nuns of the Stella Maris Convent in Swansea who were so good to him in recent years, the priests of the Dioceses of Menevia and Cardiff and his friend of very many years Fr. Danny McDonald in Wexford. Rest in peace. The Funeral Mass will take place in St. Joseph's Cathedral, Swansea at 10.30 o'c. on Wednesday (May 5th) and will be live-streamed on the Cathedral website. He will be buried afterwards in Morriston Cemetery, Swansea. Memorial Masses will be celebrated in Nicker Parish Church, Pallasgreen and in Marshalstown Parish Church when Covid-19 restrictions are lifted.
